AUSTRALIAN OPEN 2023: Swiatek is No. 1; Gauff seeks 1st Slam

The Associated Press takes a look at some of the women to watch at the 2023 Australian Open Grand Slam tennis tournament. Play begins on the hard courts of Melbourne Park on Monday. The field is led by No. 1-ranked Iga Swiatek. She owns three Grand Slam titles and will be favored to win her first in Australia. Ons Jabeur is ranked No. 2 after reaching two major finals in 2022. Two American women are ranked in the top five. They are Jessica Pegula and French Open runner-up Coco Gauff. Each of them already has won a trophy this season.
