M Health Fairview welcomes first baby of 2022

M Health Fairview welcomed the first baby delivered at their hospital in 2022 Saturday.
Sophia Hope Yang was born at 1:32 a.m. at Lakes Medical Center.
She weighs 7 pounds and is 19.5 inches long.
Sophia’s first name was picked out by her older sister, Mia, and her middle name is a nod to moving forward after an unprecedented past two years.
"2020 and 2021’s been like a rollercoaster with the pandemic and all, so we’re just looking forward to new year," mom Nou Vang said. "Sophia Hope is embodying all of that for us."

Sophia joins a big family. In addition to dad Francis Yang, she has four older siblings to grow up with, and the siblings are excited to meet their sister when the parents come home from the hospital Sunday.
"We’re excited to start 2022 with a new year and a new baby," Vang said.
