March 02, 2018 10:39 PM

Minnesotans will be able to enjoy their Saturday outdoors as warm weather and sun is expected.

According to KSTP Chief Meteorologist Dave Dahl, temperatures are expected to reach the high 40s. That's nearly 10 degrees above the average for this time of year.

Dahl said temperatures should stay above the freezing point overnight as well.

Temperatures Sunday are expected to remain in the high 40s, however, rain is expected.

The rain is expected to begin in the early morning. By the afternoon, that rain will turn into heavy showers, Dahl said.

Because of the rain, National Weather Service in the Twin Cities urged residents to clear snow and ice from storm drains.
