Sun Expected Tuesday, More Snow Could Come Wednesday

April 16, 2018 10:50 PM

Minnesotans will have the opportunity to experience sunshine and warmer weather after the past weekend's historic snowfall, however, it won't last long, according to KSTP Meteorologist Dave Dahl.

Tuesday is expected to have plenty of sun and temperatures could reach 40 degrees.

Tuesday's weather will only offer a short break before more winter-like weather moves back into the area.

According to Dahl, more snow is expected Wednesday. He said a majority of the snow is expected to hit southern Minnesota, however the Twin Cities could see some.

Wednesday's snow would only add more inches on to a record setting month. Because of the weekend's snow, 2018 holds the record for the snowiest April with 26 inches.

While more snow is expected to pile up, Dahl said warm temperatures later in the week will help melt what has accumulated.

Temperatures Thursday and Friday are expected to be in the high 40s. By the weekend, temperatures will reach the 50s.
