I must admit, I can eat ice cream when it's 20 below or 90 above. Any kind of weather is ice cream weather to me! But in honor of Earth Day, Ben and Jerry's holds its annual Free Cone Day, and that just so happened to be today. I rounded up my fellow ice cream fans Leah McLean and Rob Koch and after the 5pm show today, we were Ben and Jerry's bound! Check out the pics in my latest blog.

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009 - Ben and Jerry's Free Cone Day The weather: windy but mostly sunny. Ice cream weather! (See above definition or keep reading - ANY weather is ice cream weather!) High: 59 It's a years-old tradition to go to Ben and Jerry's Free Cone Day each year. I started going about 10 years ago when I was living in DC. Then when I moved to Boston, I continued with a new set of ice cream fans. And for the last few years in the Twin Cities, I haven't missed a single Free Cone Day yet! And where else could you get a picture with a cow?
My observation about today's Free Cone Day: PRO: The line was a lot shorter than last year. Leah and I went last time and probably waited twice as long. PRO: The other thing that was nice is that it seemed warmer out this time than last year. CON: I love coffee flavored ice creams and this year, there were no coffee ice cream options on the list. I settled for a Chocolate Macadamia cone instead. PRO: It was really good!
We all went home with smiles on our faces! Next year, I'll have to recruit a few more Channel 5 folks for my ice cream crew! Thanks as always for reading my blog! -Chikage
