WINDLER: Chik's Pics - Tough to Beat
I'm on day 3 of filling in for Patrick Hammer and I must say, despite the early hours and the lack of sleep, this has been one terrific stretch of weather! It's tough to beat sunshine and unseasonable warmth! The last couple days, I've been able to share some quality afternoons with my 18-month-old daughter Austen...outdoors, of course. Tuesday, April 14th, 2009 - West Lake Park in Blaine The weather: spectacular sunshine! High: 65, the warmest this month so far. It did indeed meet my expectations for a "Top 10" Spring Day. My little girl Austen never gets tired of going to the park, so I drove her to West Lake Park to check out their tot lot. I think everyone else had the same idea as me. It was wall to wall parents and kids enjoying the fine spring weather! As much as I was loving the sunshine and sixties, one look at the smile on Austen's face, and you know she was loving it (and the slide and swings) even more!
Hi Mommy! Look at Me! Although it's still only April, I admit to being a member of the overprotective parent club. I'm trying to get Austen in the habit of wearing sunglasses, sunscreen, and a hat to protect her from the sun. I just bought her the wide brimmed floppy white hat the other day and though it's a little big for her, I think it's so cute!
Wheeee! There were so many photo ops (not just of Austen) out at the park. One of my favorites is a little 2-year-old boy that was sitting in a play car at the playground and loving every second of it. There's nothing like the joy of a child! And of course, all the adults were so thankful for a great outdoor day...the perfect cure for cabin fever that we had over the winter. Best of all, though yesterday's weather is tough to beat, I dare say we WILL! Today's on track to be even warmer. @e get more great weather the rest of the week, possibly hitting 70 by Friday for the first time since November 4th! Here are the rest of my "Chik's Pics."
