This morning, I'm pinch-hitting for Patrick and despite waking up so early, I'm in a great mood. That's because I'll be able to go out and enjoy another mild afternoon, albeit a mostly cloudy one! Between the morning and midday show, I ventured out to get some fresh "Chik's Pics" of the day. I stopped by Marydale Park in St. Paul to enjoy a walk around Loeb Lake. Check out all my pics in my latest blog.

Monday, April 13th, 2009 - Marydale Park in St. Paul The weather: cloudy but mild. As of this blog, we were up to 48 degrees on our way to a high in the mid to upper 50s. Let's face it, this past Easter weekend was phenomenal. We had plenty of sun and mild temps. Today, the mild temps are still here, but a weather system far to our south has spread in a canvas of cloud cover blocking out much of the sun. I do think we'll see some peeks of sun in the afternoon, but the day will probably not rank as nice as what we saw the last couple days. That said, it was a really pleasant morning for a walk around the park! Marydale Park in St. Paul was a great spot for my "Chik's Pics" with the sights and sounds of nature gettting stronger by the minute! When I arrived, the first things I noticed were the geese on Lake Loeb. Next, I just paused for a while to enjoy the symphony of all the songbirds that have returned to the Twin Cities. Their music and flight from tree branch to tree branch was fun to watch. As I made my way a little farther down the path, I caught a glimpse of a couple rabbits running back and forth in the grass. There were some squirrels scampering here and there as well. I absolutely love this time of year because you can just sense that spring is springing! Even the willow trees have started to bloom and the grass (in spots) is greening up. After the winter, I have such an appreciation for the mild temps...cloudy or not! Check out all my "Chik's Pics" right here: And if clouds are not your cup of tea, no worries. It looks like tomorrow and Wednesday, we'll see mostly sunny skies return....plus a shot a (finally) 60 degrees! Thanks as always for reading my blog! -Chikage
