I love it when the afternoon sun brings temps warm enough that the extra layers become optional. As I walked through Lakewood Hills Park in White Bear Lake, I must admit I was pretty tempted to toss my fleece jacket into the car. I met a few guys that were out throwing a football around, and they figured it was warm enough to break out the shorts! I'm sure they're not alone...and as we head into an even warmer Easter weekend, expect more of the same. Check out all my "Chik's Pics" of the day in my latest blog. Want to read my previous blog?
Friday, April 10th, 2009 - Lakewood Hills Park in White Bear Lake The weather: sunny and mild for yet another day. It was gorgeous! We made it to a high of 54 - tying the "normal" high for the day. We should surpass the norm this weekend as winds turn more southerly. The result: a shot at our first 60-degree temps since March 22nd when it made it to 61 degrees. Our temps this month have been running 3.8 degrees cooler than normal, but it looks like we're in for a milder stretch of temps now. We should be above normal for the next week! That's great news after having temps at or below normal for the last 17 straight days. And it's also great news if you like not wearing a coat and long pants! As for me, I'm not sure if I'm quite ready to wear shorts like the guys I watched toss a football around. But I do hope to spend a good chunk of my weekend outdoors. The game plan for now is dyeing eggs tomorrow, then having an outdoor Easter egg hunt for my little girl on Sunday. Austen is now 18-months old and she's become very good at playing hide and seek! With our forecast for 60s this weekend, the oudoor plan sounds "egg"cellent! Thanks as always for reading my blog and Happy Easter! -Chikage
