More heat and the possibility of showers and thunderstorms.
KSTP Chief Meteorologist Dave Dahl said that's what the Twin Cities can expect Thursday.
Dahl said a high of 90 degrees is expected with a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms both early and late. Heavy rain is possible overnight Thursday into Friday.
The National Weather Service said a heat advisory for the metro area remains in effect until 8 p.m. Thursday. The counties included in the advisory are Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott and Washington.
Heat indices Wednesday reached 112 degrees in Morton, 109 degrees in Granite Falls and 108 degrees in Madison and Hutchinson. Closer to the metro, Lakeville reported a heat index of 105 degrees.
