Warm weather and sunshine is expected Thursday, but Minnesotans may experience more winter weather over the weekend, according to KSTP Meteorologist Sam Ryan.
Thursday is expected to be sunny, with temperatures reaching the mid-40s according to Ryan.
Moving into Friday, precipitation is expected to make its way through the state, with a combination of snow and rain. Ryan expects the mix to reach the Twin Cities by 10 p.m. and last until Saturday morning.
Because of the snow, the National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for multiple Minnesota counties. Those counties include Carver, Dakota, Goodhue, Hennepin, Le Sueur, McLeod, Meeker, Rice, Scott, Stearns, Steele and Wright counties.
It still appears the metro will be on the edge of some heavy snow Friday night. Very confident in several inches across western/southern MN. #mnwx pic.twitter.com/TWnNALqQ24

According to NWS, with wind gusts reaching 40 mph, blowing and drifting snow is possible, making travel difficult.
Ryan said a stretch from Willmar to Mankato could see up to 8 inches of snow. In the metro, Ryan said Eden Prairie could see 6 inches, Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport could see 4 inches and Stillwater could see 1 inch.
