High temperatures and severe weather are possible toward the end of the week going into the weekend, according to KSTP's Chief Meteorologist Dave Dahl.

Dahl said temperatures Thursday and Friday are expected to reach the high 80s, however, it will feel like the temperature is in the 90s due to a high heat index.

A few strong storms are expected to develop in western Minnesota Thursday, with a chance of reaching the Twin Cities by Friday and Saturday afternoon, Dahl said.

The Storm Prediction Center has put a large portion of the state in a marginal risk of severe weather Friday into Saturday.

Once the storms leave the area Sunday, temperatures are expected to dip into the high 60s. However, they are expected to climb back into the 70s and 80s by Wednesday, according to Dahl.
