Dense Fog Alert Lifted for Dozens of Minn. Counties

A dense fog alert for much of central and southern Minnesota and west-central Wisconsin was lifted Friday.

According to the National Weather Service, dense fog was expected to linger through 9 a.m. Friday.

The following counties were affected, according to the NWS:

Anoka, Benton, Blue Earth, Barren, Brown, Carver, Chippewa, Chisago, Dakota, Douglas, Dunn, Eau Claire, Faribault, Freeborn, Goodhue, Hennepin, Isanti, Kanabec, Kandiyohi, Lac Qui Parle, Le Sueur, Martin, McLeod, Meeker, Mille Lacs, Morrison, Nicollet, Pepin, Pierce, Polk, Pope, Ramsey, Redwood, Renville, Rice, Rusk, Scott, Sherburne, Sibley, Stearns, Steele, Stevens, Swift, Todd, Waseca, Washington, Watonwan, Wright, and Yellow Medicine.

The NWS reported reduced visibility and cautioned drivers to reduce their speed, use low beam headlights and increase distance between vehicles.
