Cold Monday, but Rising Temperatures Just Ahead

February 12, 2018 09:35 AM

It's still cold, but a warmup is coming.

That's the word from KSTP's Ken Barlow, who said the high in the Twin Cities Monday is expected to rise to only 12 degrees, as a sunny start gives way to increasing clouds as the day goes on.

The low overnight is expected to be around 6 with a flurry possible.

But Tuesday, Barlow's forecast calls for a high of 28 and a low of just 18 with partial sun developing. And Wednesday looks better still. Barlow said the high could be near 40 with partial sunshine.

It gets a bit cooler from there. Barlow's forecast for Thursday and Friday calls for highs of 26 and 20 respectively. But both days are expected to be mostly sunny.

And it warms back up on the weekend with highs of 34 and 35 expected Saturday and Sunday.

Snow does not even pop back up in Barlow's forecast until Sunday, and then only with a chance for flurries and/or drizzle at times.
