Weekend Lane Closures in Effect North of the Metro

September 08, 2017 10:23 PM

If your weekend plans take you north of the metro this weekend, a striping project could get in your way. According to the Minnesota Department of Transportation, motorists along Interstate 35 will find crews working from just north of Barnum to Scanlon this weekend.

The road will be reduced to one lane in both directions Friday, Saturday and Monday. MnDOT hopes to wrap up the work by Monday, September 11, but the work could continue into next weekend. Learn more about the project.

In west central Minnesota, traffic on Interstate 94 is sharing the westbound lanes while a resurfacing and bridge project is underway. Drivers can expect a single lane of traffic to be open on the east and westbound side. According to MnDOT, the lane restrictions have been adding just a few minutes to the drive, even on weekends.
