Two new road closures will greet drivers starting Monday morning. In the southwest metro, Highway 41 is closing between Pioneer Trail and Hundertmark Road in Chaska. The roadway will shut down starting at 5 a.m. Monday and will reopen to four lanes in early September. The detour takes you to Powers Boulevard and Lyman Boulevard. Learn more about the project.
On the opposite side of town, Highway 95 is closing in Stillwater starting Monday between Nelson Street and Highway 36. The roadway is set to close for three weeks while crews install new drainage structures beneath the highway in order to improve storm water runoff. The detour takes motorists to Manning Avenue/County Road 15. Learn more about the project.
More changes are coming to your drive along Highway 169 in the northwest metro. While 114th Avenue just west of Highway 169 in Champlin will reopen on Monday, two new intersections will close beginning Tuesday, June 12th. According to MnDOT, 117th Avenue and 109th Avenue will close to the west of Highway 169 until late June. You will be able to travel between Highway 169 and both roads on the east side of Highway 169. Learn more about the project.
If you need some good news, then you'll be happy to hear that Highway 47 in Columbia Heights and Minneapolis is reopening soon. According to the Minnesota Department of Transportation, the roadway will fully open from 32nd Avenue to Lowry Avenue on Tuesday, June 12.
According to Dave Aeikens, with MnDOT Communications, Sunday night's overnight closure of I-35W North from Highway 62 to Interstate 94 is postponed. It has been moved to Monday, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday. Aeikens says Saturday's rain caused the change.
