A 31-year-old passenger was pronounced dead after a crash involving two vehicles Monday afternoon in Duluth.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, 31-year-old Courtney Jane Ryan of St. Paul, who was a passenger in a 2003 Buick Century being driven by 31-year-old Jacob Edward Ryan, was taken to St. Luke's Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The state patrol said Jacob Ryan, also of St. Paul, was driving southbound on Highway 61 toward Brighton Beach Boulevard at about 3:30 p.m.

The Buick went over the center line, according to the state patrol, and was struck by a 2013 Lexus RX350 headed northbound on Highway 61.

Jacob Ryan was also transported to St. Luke's Hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

According to state patrol, 42-year-old Aubrey Lynn Danielson of Duluth, who was driving the Lexus, was transported to St. Mary's Hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

The state patrol reports alcohol was not a factor in the crash, and all involved were wearing seatbelts.
