At least four people were injured when an SUV slammed into a building Monday afternoon in Zimmerman.

A release from the Sherburne County Sheriff's Office said two people in need of medical attention were airlifted from the scene at Reliant Systems, located at 12641 Fremont Avenue. Two more were transported by ambulance to area hospitals.

At least one of those injuries is described as critical.

First responders and witnesses helped remove employees from the debris caused when a 1999 Chevy Tahoe traveling east on Fremont reportedly left the roadway and crashed into the building at around 1 p.m. The vehicle continued about 30 or 40 feet through the interior of the building before finally coming to a stop.

The release said alcohol is suspected as a factor in the crash. Names of those involved have not yet been released.

The matter remains under investigation.
