Car Crashes into Oakdale Hy-Vee after Driver Suffers Medical Emergency

A 52-year-old male driver suffering a medical situation struck an Oakdale grocery store Tuesday.

Oakdale police report officers and members of the Oakdale Fire Department were dispatched to a single-vehicle crash at the Hy-Vee around 11:56 a.m. Tuesday. A release said callers reported a vehicle had collided with the building and items located outside.


First responders determined the 52-year-old male was unconscious at the time of the accident. A pedestrian was treated and released at the scene after suffering what were termed as minor injuries from flying debris.

The release said no pedestrians were actually struck by the vehicle itself.
