New Lane Closures on Interstate 35 North of the Metro

Drivers heading north of the Twin Cities will encounter a new set of lane closures along Interstate 35 this weekend.

A resurfacing project is underway just north of Barnum extending to Scanlon (south of Duluth). Traffic is reduced to one lane in each direction. Motorists may also encounter some occasional ramp closures along this stretch. The good news is that barrels should be pulled out of the way sometime during the week of August 7. Meanwhile, on your way back to metro, expect added delays along Highway 10 in Elk River. The road is reduced to one lane on the eastbound side near Lake Orono. The Minnesota Department of Transportation said Sunday afternoons have been especially tough for traffic as motorists return from their weekend getaways. The project will last until the fall of 2018.
