If you’re heading to Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport anytime this fall, you’re about to see more construction.

Work is getting underway on a new 5,000-space parking ramp and 300-room InterContinental Hotel at Terminal 1.

The Metropolitan Airports Commission says airport visitors will notice lane closures for inbound traffic this fall because of construction on the new skyway leading to the hotel. Some of those inbound roads will close overnight, and traffic will be rerouted onto Northwest Drive. The closures will be from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m.

MAC officials say they are working to keep the drop-off, pick-up and parking areas flowing smoothly during the work.

The goal is to have the hotel open and ready for guests in time for the Super Bowl in 2018.
