A late-night motorcycle crash involving a bus occurred in Minneapolis Thursday.

Authorities said the incident happened just before 10 p.m. in the area of Hennepin and Lyndale avenues.

Police said the motorcyclist, who is in serious condition but is expected to live, was the only one injured. Police said the motorcyclist may have been trying to get around traffic when the motorcyclist crashed into the back of the bus.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the motorcyclist.

The bus was operated by an early education and child care center.

Authorities are investigating the crash.
