A motorcyclist got away after being pursued by a West Hennepin Public Safety officer Monday morning.

A post on the department's Facebook page said the officer attempted to stop a speeding motorcycle headed east on County Road 6 from Nelson Road in Independence at around 7:44 a.m. Monday.

The driver reportedly did not stop for the officer's lights and siren, and was driving at speeds of over 100 miles per hour. The officer made the decision to terminate the pursuit as he believed it was too dangerous to continue.

The suspect was last season traveling north on County Road 90. The officer believes the suspect was wearing a blue or grey T-shirt with a large fish picture on the back.

Anyone with information is asked to call the West Hennepin Public Safety Department at 763-479-5000.
