Another segment of Highway 110 in the southeast metro is shutting down. Starting early Monday morning, the westbound lanes between I-494 in Inver Grove Heights and I-35E in Mendota will be closed to traffic into September. In better news, the eastbound lanes reopened over the weekend.
While the first phase of the project ran a couple weeks behind, the Minnesota Department of Transportation is hoping to reopen the westbound side by the beginning of the school year.
Crews are replacing the pavement along Highway 110, modifying turn lanes at various locations, as well as building an underground pedestrian/bicycle crossing near Highway 110 and Dodd Road. Learn more about the project.
More changes are coming to the drive along Interstate 94 between St. Paul and Maplewood. Starting early Tuesday morning, drivers will notice a traffic shift on the eastbound side near Mounds Boulevard. Work will be underway on the outside lanes, which means traffic will be moved to the inside lanes. Motorists will still be facing a split at Mounds Boulevard. Take the right lane if you need to exit inside the work zone, and use the left lane to go straight through.
The following ramps will be closed by the morning of Tuesday, August 8 through September:
· Mounds to I-94 eastbound
· Etna Street to Highway 61 southbound
