One person is dead and another injured after a Monday morning crash involving a semi and car on I-94 in Dunn County near Menomonie.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation reports the incident happened at 7:46 a.m. when a westbound Ford Ranger lost control, crossing the median and ending up in the path of a semi truck.

Wisconsin DOT said in a press release, "The semi was unable to avoid the collision and truck the Ranger on the driver's side." 

The Ranger driver, identified as 29-year-old Andrew P. Stearns of Eau Claire was killed. He was wearing a seatbelt and alcohol was not involved.  The 65-year-old semi driver from St. Paul, Elmer G. Jesok, was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life threatening. 

The incident is still under investigation.
