Lane Closures Continue in Southern Minnesota

September 29, 2017 07:22 PM

Several big construction projects in southern Minnesota are still a few weeks away from wrapping up for the season.

Earlier this week, traffic on Highway 58 switched to the new bridges over Highway 52 in Zumbrota. The ramps from Highway 52 northbound to Highway 58, and from Highway 58 to Highway 52 southbound, remain closed.

According to the Minnesota Department of Transportation, they will reopen in about one week. In the meantime, drivers will be detoured to Highway 60. Learn more about the project.

Up ahead, there are still lane closures along Highway 52 between Coates and Cannon Falls. Expect single-lane construction in both directions until early November. Learn more about the project.

Traffic is beginning to move a little bit faster through a tough work zone along Interstate 35 in Owatonna. Although I-35 is still down to one lane in both directions for a bridge replacement project, drivers are no longer sharing the same side of the road. Northbound traffic is traveling in the northbound lane, and southbound traffic is once again using the southbound lane. Learn more about the project.
