WATCH 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS Morning for the latest traffic updates.
The Wednesday morning commute began with wet, but not icy, road conditions.
KSTP Chief Morning Meteorologist Ken Barlow said while Wednesday began with more temperate weather for November, that is expected to change by the afternoon.
While the morning began with temperatures in the 40s, a cold northwesterly wind will increase in force, pushing temperatures into the 30s. It will feel like temperatures are in the mid-20s by Wednesday afternoon, Barlow said.
KSTP Traffic Reporter Josie Smith said although roads were wet, it was too warm for icy conditions.
Just before 7 a.m., Smith said there was a crash on northbound Interstate 35W, near Interstate 94, on the right shoulder.
Another crash blocked two lanes on northbound I-35W at Hiawatha Avenue. While the crash cleared quickly, major delays continued from Diamond Lake Road, Smith said.
Additionally, a multi-vehicle crash delayed traffic along eastbound Interstate 694 near East River Road.
Smith also issued a reminder that the new 86th Street bridge over Interstate 35W in Bloomington is now open. The 82nd Street bridge is expected to reopen by Dec. 1.
