Drivers will want to prepare for wet road conditions in the metro area Wednesday morning.

KSTP Chief Morning Meteorologist Ken Barlow said scattered showers are expected throughout the day.

KSTP Traffic Reporter Josie Smith advised caution during the morning drive.

Smith said a crash occurred on northbound Interstate 35W near 98th Street, blocking the left lane.

Later during the commute, Smith said a crash occurred on southbound Interstate 494 near Bass Lake Road, while another occurred on the northbound side of the interstate prior to Highway 55.

Then, a police pursuit that started on northbound I-35E near Larpenteur ended on eastbound Highway 36 just past Interstate 694 in Lake Elmo.

Looking ahead, Smith reminded drivers westbound Interstate 394 will close from downtown Minneapolis to Highway 100 this weekend.

That's in addition to the closure of Interstate 94 from Highway 55 to Interstate 35W.
