Two crashes occurred early Wednesday morning, ahead of the normal morning commute.

One crash occurred along westbound Interstate 94 past Highway 280 while another took place at Highway 36 and Hadley Avenue in Oakdale.

Meanwhile, a crash on northbound Cedar Avenue near the Minnesota River Bridge caused backups, Smith said.

Smith also said fire fully engulfed a vehicle in the area of northbound Highway 61 near 70th Street in Cottage Grove.
