Those who had to plan alternate routes during metro area roadwork may now be able to take their usual routes due to a few wrap-ups by Thursday morning.

KSTP Traffic Reporter Josie Smith reported the Portland Avenue bridge over Interstate 94 in Minneapolis, which reopened Wednesday afternoon, was clear and ready for drivers Thursday morning.

Meanwhile, the ramp from northbound Highway 61 to eastbound I-94 in St. Paul was also open Thursday morning. The ramp from Etna Street to eastbound I-94 and the ramp from McKnight Road to eastbound I-94 were also open again.

Additionally, the ramp from 31st Street to southbound Interstate 35W in Minneapolis was set to reopen by 7 a.m. Thursday.

Smith reported traffic was moving slower on westbound Interstate 694 to southbound Interstate 35E and recommended those heading that way plan for extra time during the commute.

There were also a couple of crashes Thursday morning; one occurred on northbound I-35W near Highway 13 and another near Burnsville Parkway.
