January 02, 2018 09:29 AM

WATCH 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS Morning for the latest traffic updates.

Several crashes and spinouts occurred early Tuesday morning, according to KSTP Traffic Reporter Josie Smith.

Interstate 694 was a hot spot for crashes Tuesday morning.

Several vehicles lost control on the bridge along I-694 near East River Road in Fridley, Smith said. She advised caution on bridges, overpasses and ramps Tuesday due to the possibility of black ice.

Additionally, Smith said a crash in the backup from the bridge spinouts occurred near Central Avenue.

Smith said an ambulance was at the scene as a result of the many crashes that had occurred along the interstate between Central Avenue and Highway 252.

Later in the morning, Smith said a new crash occurred on westbound I-694 near Highway 252 in Brooklyn Center.

I-694 wasn't the only location of crashes and spinouts Tuesday morning. A spinout took place on northbound Cedar Avenue near the Minnesota River Bridge, Smith said.

Smith said there were delays along westbound Highway 10 near Highway 610 due to crashes.

Meanwhile, Smith said the first of several road closures related to the upcoming Super Bowl event will take place Tuesday.
