KSTP Traffic Round-Up: I-35W Downtown to Crosstown Project Work Continues

Road work related to the Interstate 35W: Downtown to the Crosstown project continued Tuesday.

KSTP Traffic Reporter Josie Smith said overnight work on the interstate just south of Interstate 94 cleared just before 6 a.m.

Meanwhile, Smith said the northbound ramp to County Road I has been closed until late June.

Smith reminded drivers I-94 eastbound to I-35W southbound is closed until the fall of 2021 and that access in and out of downtown Minneapolis has been affected as well. I-35W northbound to 11th Street, Grant Street, and 5th Avenue is closed until fall, while 12th Street and Fourth Avenue to I-35W southbound is closed until the fall of 2021.

The ramp from I-35W northbound to 31st Street/Lake Street is closed until fall, Smith said, while the ramp from 31st Street to I-35W southbound stays closed for three years. The ramp from 35th Street to I-35W northbound is also closed until the fall of 2021.

Earlier Tuesday, Smith reported Highway 47/University Avenue fully reopened from 32nd Avenue to Lowry Avenue.

Smith also reported a semi rollover occurred on eastbound Highway 62 near Highway 77/Cedar Avenue.

Smith said the ramp reopened just before 9 a.m.
