1 Dead after Rollover Crash on I-35W in Minneapolis

A 16-year-old girl is dead after a vehicle on Interstate 35W in Minneapolis crashed into the guardrail and rolled several times.

The crash happened around 7 p.m. Monday night in the southbound lanes of I-35 near Johnson Street in Minneapolis.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a Honda Pilot was in the left lane and swerved to the right, crossing all lanes of the interstate before hitting the rail. A portion of the interstate was shut down for a time.

The victim, along with an additional passenger, was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, authorities said.

Three other passengers in the vehicle had non-life threatening injuries, according to authorities. The 17-year-old driver's condition was not provided.
