1 Dead, 4 Injured Following 6-Vehicle Crash on Hwy 169 along New Hope, Plymouth Border

One person died in a six-vehicle crash on Highway 169 along the New Hope and Plymouth border Wednesday evening, according to authorities.

The Minnesota State Patrol reported the crash happened on the northbound side of the highway at Rockford Road just before 5:30 p.m. when a semi truck rear-ended a car, pushing it into several other cars.

According to the state patrol, 22-year-old Kathryn Burkey from Nowthen was transported to North Memorial where she was pronounced dead.

Meanwhile, authorities said 22-year-old driver Eyni Gaal from Willmar, 21-year-old passenger Fowzio Mohyadiin from Burnsville, 49-year-old driver Raymond Ranney from Champlin, and 22-year-old driver Brett Leistico from Elk River suffered injuries that were not life-threatening.

Authorities said 32-year-old driver Stephen Griffiths from New Hope and 60-year-old driver Jon Lindeman from North Branch were not hurt in the crash.
