A portion of Interstate 694 in Oakdale reopened Saturday, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

The roadway had been closed all week after a water main break caused a sinkhole.

Crews worked Friday to repair the sinkhole and began to remove barriers early Saturday morning. 

After the road reopens, detour routes will see less traffic. Those include westbound Interstate 94 to northbound I-35E, as well as westbound Highway 36 to I-35E and southbound I-94.
