The state patrol reports a 23-year-old Buffalo Lake man suffered what are considered to be life-threatening injuries after his pickup truck was struck by a semitrailer Wednesday morning on Highway 212 in Glencoe.

The incident report states a 1998 Dodge Dakota pickup driven by 23-year-old Dustin Kraemer was turning left onto Chandler Avenue when it was struck by the semi traveling west on Highway 212.

The driver of the 2016 Freightliner Tractor - 42-year-old Robert Joseph Traynor - was not injured.

Images provided by the McLeod County Chronicle show massive flames and a heavy, dark plume of smoke emanating from the site of the collision.
