The man who was struck by a Blue Line light rail train in Minneapolis and later died has been identified.

According to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office, the cause of 39-year-old Colin Michael Brougham's death was multiple blunt force injuries.


Authorities said Brougham crossed the tracks near at the intersection of East 42nd Street and Hiawatha Avenue at about 6:45 p.m. Tuesday. Authorities said crossing arms had been lowered and a warning signal was audible when Brougham began crossing the tracks and was hit by a northbound train.

Blue Line service was delayed for more than an hour as a result of the incident.

The medical examiner ruled Brougham's death as an accident.
