North Branch police say alcohol appears to be a factor in a crash that sent a motorcycle driver and passenger to the hospital Thursday night.

The 54-year-old male driver and the 56-year-old female passenger were not wearing helmets when the motorcycle crossing Falcon Avenue struck a combine, according to authorities. The two were unresponsive when first responders arrived at the scene.

Police identified the two as James Kevin Gervais of North Branch and Denise Marie Ellingworth of Forest Lake Friday afternoon. Gervais is listed in critical condition. Ellingworth is listed in stable condition.
