2 Pedestrians Die after Being Struck by Vehicles Sunday

A 45-year-old man died after being hit by a vehicle while trying to cross a highway in Burnsville Sunday night.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a Dodge Ram was traveling westbound in the left lane of Highway 13, near Washburn Avenue, when it struck the man crossing traffic just after 9 p.m.


Authorities say the man was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center before being pronounced dead.

According to the state patrol, the driver of the Dodge Ram was not under the influence of alcohol.

The second incident happened in Lake of the Woods County. 

A man kneeling on a rural road in Wheeler Township was struck and killed about 11:30 p.m.

A Rochester man driving the car that struck the man told investigators he tried to swerve, but ended up striking him. The victim is a 39-year-old Baudette man.
