Flip Saunders drafted Karl-Anthony Towns and Tyus Jones on the same night back in 2015.  It's just one of the find memories the two Timberwolves players have of former coach and General Manager Flip Saunders, who will be celebrated in a pre-game ceremony at Target Center Thursday night.

The team is asking fans to be seated in the arena by 7:15 p.m. for the ceremony.  Tip-off against the Lakers is at 8:00 p.m.

Saunders coached the Timberwolves from 1995-2005 and again  in 2014-15, when he also served as the franchise's general manager.  His 2003-2004 team featured league MVP Kevin Garnett and made the team's deepest playoff run - falling to the Lakers in the Western Conference Final.

His 411 wins are the most in Timberwolves history - more than four times as many wins as the next coach on the list.

Saunders announced he had been diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma in August 2015. He was hospitalized the following month, and died on October 25th at age 60.

Saunders' son Ryan continues to serve as an assistant coach with the Timberwolves.
