KSTP's sports staff gives you a look at the three keys the Vikings need to win Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Rams.

1. Stick With the Running Game

Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald is one of the best defensive linemen in football, but the Rams have struggled against the run this season.

Los Angeles is giving up 4.5 yards per carry, which is the sixth worst average in the NFL. Whether it is Jerick McKinnon or Latavius Murray, the Vikings need to find the hot hand in the ground game and stick with him. The Rams have a tremendous pass rush, so staying out of 3rd and long situations will be important.

2. Make Jared Goff Beat You

Rams second year quarterback Jared Goff is playing well, but he's not what makes the Rams' offense click.

Running back Todd Gurley has record over 100 total yards in seven of their nine games this season and has scored 10 touchdowns. The Vikings have the third best run defense in the NFL and they'd be wise to focus on Gurley and the run game, and take their chances with Goff in the passing game.

3. Avoid Turnovers at All Cost

The Vikings overcame a pair of bad interceptions from Case Keenum last week against Washington, but that might not be the case against the Rams.

Los Angeles lead the NFL with 19 takeaways (12 interceptions, 7 fumble recoveries), which has helped put their offense in solid field position. In a match-up of two of the NFC's elite teams, the turnover battle will play a factor.
