Tyler Nanne was a hockey player who had it all. The legendary Nanne family name, all the talent in the world and a full ride to Ohio State. But the young man who had it all, almost lost it all.
Nanne made his collegiate debut with the Gophers Friday night at Duluth.
Nanne won two state championships at Edina High School, but has yet to play a game of college hockey after almost losing his life. Nine months ago, Nanne passed out at a hotel and had to be rushed to the hospital.
While in the hospital, Tyler was diagnosed with Myocarditis, a disease marked by inflammation and damage of the heart muscle.
Tyler has healed and is back on the ice. He has transferred to the University of Minnesota and hopes to play for the Gophers next season.
