Two Gophers Advance to Finals of NCAA Wrestling Championships

Two Gophers will wrestle for national championships Saturday night in St. Louis. 

6th seeded Ethan Lizak beat Jack Mueller of Virginia 7-0 in the 125 pound NCAA semifinals. Lizak will face 4th seeded Darian Cruz of Lehigh in the finals. 


2nd seeded Brett Pfarr avenged a loss to Ohio State's Kollin Moore in the Big Ten Championships with a 13-9 win in Friday's NCAA semifinals. Pfarr will have to beat top-seeded J'den Cox of Missouri to win a national championship at 197 pounds.

Former Apple Valley standout Mark Hall reached the championship match for Penn State at 174 pounds. Hall handed Arizona State's Zahid Valencia his first loss in the semifinals on Friday.
