Twins to Sign Former Rays Slugger Logan Morrison

The Minnesota Twins are wrapping up a deal to sign power-hitting first baseman Logan Morrison.

According to KSTP's Darren "Doogie" Wolfson, Morrison will earn $6.5 million in 2018 with a vesting option for 2019. The deal would max out at $16.5 million over the two years.

Morrison hit .246 with with career-high 38 home runs and 85 RBI in 2017 with the Tampa Bay Rays. He has some experience in the outfield, but is more likely to be their designated hitter. Morrison has a career OPS of .763 in 3,353 plate appearances. This will be his fourth MLB team after spending time in Florida/Miami, Seattle and Tampa Bay.
