Between former Gophers and Twin Cities natives, Savage's Chase Roullier (Burnsville HS) was the first to get drafted. He went No. 199 overall to Washington, the famous slot that New England once upon a time took Tom Brady at.

Washington traded for No. 199 from the Vikings.

Other local players taken:

  • Gophers cornerback Jalen Myrick 7th round No. 222 to Jacksonville. Ran a 4.28 40-yard dash at the Combine. This is the fourth straight year that the Gophers have had a defensive back drafted.

Local players who weren't drafted and then signed free-agent contracts:

  • Gophers right tackle Jonah Pirsig to the Titans, per a source. He turned down three other offers, not the Vikings.
  • Gophers defensive back Demarius Travis has signed a rookie free agent deal with the New England Patriots.
