Since 1987, the Senior Games have given athletes over the age of 50 the opportunity to compete in several sports and activities. Minneapolis is currently hosting sports all over town through Aug. 9.
One of the sports getting a lot of attention is Pickleball. Nearly 200 athletes are competing in this tournament. Randy Hall and Fritz Bukowski are running the tournament. Hall is also a participant and has seen this sport grow the past 10 years that he's been involved.
Overall, more than 1,500 athletes ranging in age from 50 to 95 years old are taking part in the 2014 Senior Games.
The Twin Cities games are regional this year. The metro area will host the National Senior Games next summer.
