An email the Minnesota Vikings recently sent to season ticket holders caught some of them by surprise, and not all of them are happy about it.
The Vikings have used the south sideline as their bench for many years, so when they offered season tickets this year at TCF Bank Stadium on the University of Minnesota campus, many of the season-ticket holders wanted the same location behind the team's bench.
However, a recent email to those season-ticket holders says the team has decided to switch their bench from the south to the north sideline. That has some season ticket holders upset, arguing they have not gotten what they paid for when they sent in their money.
Steve and Linda Milton say their 50-yard-line season tickets have been in the family since 1961. They have always been right behind the Vikings' bench, so when they were offered the same location, they say they jumped at the opportunity at TCF Bank Stadium.
But now that the Vikings have moved to the other side of the field, the Miltons don't think they are getting their money's worth after spending thousands of dollars to sit behind their favorite team.
The Vikings issued a statement that says, in part, the team understands some fans will be frustrated by the switch and they encourage them to call the team's offices. If they cannot accommodate those fans who are unhappy with the change, they will offer them a refund on their ticket costs.
