The Minnesota Twins unveiled a new bronze statue at Target Plaza on Sunday that honors quite a character.

T.C. Bear, the team's mascot, has now joined the ranks of Kent Hrbek, Rod Carew, Calvin Griffith, Carl and Eloise Pohlad, Tony Oliva, Kirby Puckett and Harmon Killebrew.

T.C.'s statue sits on the 7th Street side of the plaza near Gate 29. It was revealed before the Twins took on the Houston Astros at 11:30 a.m.

According to the team, T.C. has been with the team since signing on as a free agent April 3, 2000. He was born in Bear River, Minnesota, in 1991 and currently resides in White Bear Lake.

Hrbek's statue was the last one to be added to Twins Plaza in April of 2012. The statue is located outside of Gate 14 in honor of Hrbek's retired number.

Hrbek and Oliva, along with team manager Ron Gardenhire and in-game host Jim Cunninham, were onsite for the announcement.
