The Minnesota Wild takes on the Chicago Blackhawks at the Xcel Energy Center on Tuesday Night.

The Wild have won every home playoff game this season but have struggled on the road. So how much does home ice really mean?

University of Saint Thomas psychology professor John Tauer published an article on home field advantage. Tauer found the home team wins around sixty percent of the time and tends to get penalty calls in their favor.

"An extra power play here or there where the crowd boos the referees start to second guess themselves all of those things combined can help conspire to give a home team that edge." Tauer said.

Tauer says home cooking and sleeping in your own bed also helps players when playing at home.
