The Minnesota Vikings will begin its first season away from the Metrodome on the road with a matchup against the St. Louis Rams, the team announced Wednesday. The Vikings will open play at TCF Bank Stadium by hosting the New England Patriots in Week 2. Minnesota's bye week is Week 10.
The Vikings will play four of its final six games at home, including the season finale against the Chicago Bears.
There are four teams on the schedule that made the playoffs last season: New England, New Orleans, Green Bay, and Carolina. Minnesota will three of those teams.
Minnesota's only prime time game is a Week 5 matchup at Lambeau Field on Thursday, Oct. 2 against the Green Bay Packers. The teams have played three times on Thursday night, both winning a game.
When Detroit visits TCF Bank Stadium in Week 6, it will be the first time the teams will play since the Vikings' finale at the Metrodome. Minnesota beat Detroit 14-13 in that final game last season.
Minnesota will play Washington for the fifth-straight season in Week 9. The Vikings came from behind the beat the Redskins 34-27 last season.
