The Minnesota Vikings have re-signed offensive lineman Charlie Johnson to a two-year deal worth $2.5 million per year, a source has told KSTP's Darren Wolfson.

Johnson, 30 in May, started 15 games for the Vikings at left guard last season.

The Vikings finalized the contract on Wednesday, The Associated Press said, and also re-signed nose tackle Fred Evans. The team has now brought back six of its own unrestricted free agents during the offseason.

The Vikings started with 15 unrestricted free agents; running back Toby Gerhart and cornerback Chris Cook signed with other clubs.

Johnson will start his ninth year in the NFL, the fourth with the Vikings. He's been a starter the whole time, including at left tackle his first season.

Evans, entering his eighth NFL season, agreed to a one-year contract. He joined the Vikings in 2007, starting six of 94 games since then. Evans finished last season with the sixth-longest tenure on the team.
